My approach is collaborative and tailored to you. We’ll work in a way that fits what you need, whether that’s space to reflect, more structure, accountability, or practical tools you can use right away.
The therapeutic relationship matters. Feeling comfortable, understood, and connected creates the foundation for meaningful work and real change. When appropriate, I bring in humor, because healing doesn’t always have to feel heavy. I value open communication and invite feedback so we can continue what’s working and adjust when needed.
Much of our work centers on exploring past and present experiences and patterns that show up in your relationships. We focus on building self-trust and a more secure connection with yourself and others.
My Background
I’m Erika Lopez, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I began working in the mental health field in 2006 and have extensive experience supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds across a range of settings, including schools, community-based programs, and private practice. Those experiences shaped the way I approach this work and what I bring into the therapy space.
Alongside my professional training, my own lived experiences have shaped my interest in relational work. This allows me to approach our work with care, empathy, and understanding.
My work is attachment-informed and I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused work, emotionally focused therapy, and Gottman-informed principles. Rather than relying on a single framework, I integrate what is most helpful for you and your goals. The approach evolves as you do.
